SHIRUR: Diving expert Eshwar Malpe said the search for Arjun of Kozhikode, who went missing in the landslide at Shirur in Karnataka, is being ended. Malpe said he is ending the search as the police and the administration are not cooperating.
Malpe and his team are returning after being denied permission to search underwater. Will not come to Shirur again and is returning to Uduppi. Apologising to Arjun's family. They said not to be a hero too much. They said not to share the information with anyone. Malpe said that he will return only if the district administration requests it through a letter.
Sharing the information with the media angered the district administration. It is believed that the lorry will be found from under the river. Had promised Arjun's family, but returning. Cannot continue fighting with the authorities. Malpe added that the mission cannot be accomplished by fighting.
The search is conducted using the dredger brought from Karwar. The stand of the district administration and the police is that when the soil is removal and searched, it is not possible to hunt by submerging in water nearby. The company that delivered the dredger had also brought a diver to Shirur. Malpe returned following the directive that only government systems be used for the search. There were differences of opinion between Shirur district administration and Malpe, earlier.
