MUMBAI: Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may leave Mumbai Indians ahead of mega auction. It is reported that the star has held initial talks with another team and the transfer fee is said to be acceptable to Mumbai as well.
Five-time IPL champions Mumbai brought back former player Hardik to the squad last season and assigned him captaincy, only to see the team finishing at the bottom of the table. The fans were angry with the decision and Bumrah was one among the players who took matters into his own hands and expressed his displeasure to the management tacitly.
It is already rumoured that the player is heading towards Gujarat Titans. There are also indications that Bumrah, who hails from Ahmedabad, is interested in playing for his hometown club. Mumbai Indians won’t make things easy as they are still apprehensive about letting go of the best player of the last T20 World Cup.
It is learned that Gujarat will consider a swap move by allowing star bowler Rashid Khan to join Mumbai in return for Bumrah. Going by last season's developments, Rohit Sharma and his ilks including Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma are unlikely to continue in the team.
