ALAPPUZHA: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan said that more people from backward communities should enter the civil service if they want to get social justice. He was inaugurating the merit evening and felicitation of talents at SNDP Yogam Ambalappuzha Union.
"Sree Narayaneeyars should work towards getting more people from the community to come in the IAS, IPS and IRS areas. R Sankar worked with the educational visions of Sree Narayana Gurudeva. It was R Sankar who provided opportunities for community members to pursue higher education. Except for Kollam SN College, all other colleges were established in rural areas. It should be examined how many higher educational institutions have been given to us by successive governments after Sankar. It is only the SNDP Yogam that has not received justice in the social, political, economic and educational spheres. The community can move forward only if it becomes an organized force. We have to become an organized force not to take away the rights of others, but to get our rights. While others are growing at the speed of a jet, we are growing at the speed of a snail. Some people from within the community are doing work that is weakening the organization. Some even went to the Supreme Court with a case. The community can grow only if such activities are dealt with caution," said Vellappally Natesan.
He inaugurated the membership campaign of the Youth Movement.
Minister VN Vasavan and Ramesh Chennithala presented the honours. The awards were presented by MLAs PP Chittaranjan, H Salam and Alappuzha municipality president KK Jayamma.
