Director arrested for sexually abusing woman after promising roles in films

KOCHI: A young director has been arrested on the complaint of sexually abusing a woman after promising her roles in films. The Palarivattom police arrested A Shajahan (31) of Poochal Kallarammal House in Malappuram on the complaint of the woman of Kannur.

Shajahan is the director of ‘James Camaroon’ and had worked as an assistant director in many films. The woman had acted in the film directed by him but it has not been released so far. Shajahan was staying with the woman in Vennala. He had promised to marry her. The woman recently came to know that he is already married. With this, she decided to lodge a complaint. The police have registered a case against Shajahan under various charges including rape, threats, cheating and injuring her with weapon.
