The Himba is the last semi-nomadic tribe of Namibia with distinct customs and interesting lifestyles. With the passage of time, the number of Himba members has decreased. According to recent figures, there are about 50,000 people in this tribe. The Himbas, who own houses, are included in the semi-tribal category. This section will stay away from their homes only if there are problems like water scarcity or floods. The Himbas live in the desert region of Namibia.

Now, a documentary aired on African History TV has revealed some of the traditional lifestyles of the Himbas. Most people have been surprised by the customs followed by them over the centuries.

The Himbas show extra hospitality. Therefore, what they do for the happiness of the guests who come home is also different. Their wives should socialize well with guests and even sleep with them. This is permitted by the husbands of the women themselves. Their wedding rituals are also different. According to reports, the women in the Himba Tribe are very hardworking. It is women who work more than men to take care of the animals and the household.

The men here will have more than one wife. According to the study, 70 per cent of Himba men raise at least one child. Sometimes it is not even their own child. They live happily with their wives. The Himbas don't consider giving birth to a child before marriage or having extramarital affairs as a big issue.
