NEW DELHI: Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has tweeted, expressing his anxiety to visit Wayanad, where very heavy rains have started strewing misery all over the district. He also informed that he had telephoned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and told him to be alert over Wayanad, where floods and landslides had intensified.
“The people of Wayanad, my Lok Sabha constituency, are in my thoughts & prayers as they battle raging floodwaters.
I was to travel to Wayanad, but I’ve now been advised by officials that my presence will disrupt relief operations. I’m awaiting their OK to travel.”
