THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Smoke was detected aboard an Air India flight scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram to Muscat at 11 am today, just before take-off. Airport authorities quickly responded by evacuating the passengers for safety checks.
Officials from Air India have confirmed that there are no serious issues with the aircraft. The airline and airport authorities reassured passengers that the situation is under control, and after thorough inspections, the flight will proceed as planned. There is no need to replace the aircraft.
Passengers are currently being released following the safety check and the flight is expected to resume shortly.
