THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is facing severe criticism from within his own party. Despite the CPM state secretary defending Vijayan publicly, party members expressed strong dissatisfaction at the state committee meeting on Saturday. They pointed out that the government has been plagued by controversies and that this will ultimately harm the party. They also said that the explanation given by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the PR agency was not satisfactory and not credible.
According to sources, leaders such as MV Jayarajan, S Sharma, Raju Abraham, J Mercykutty Amma, CS Sujatha and K Chandran Pillai levelled severe criticism against the Chief Minister. The members asked why the Chief Minister was hesitant to remove ADGP MR Ajith Kumar from law and order responsibilities. According to the members, the CM's stance on the issue has created doubts in the minds of the people and that such a situation should not have occurred.
The state committee is of the view that there is no need to move against PV Anvar who levelled serious allegations against the Chief Minister and the party. Many people who desire Muslim centralization are with Anvar and hence, the party should approach the minority politics emerging behind this with caution, the members stated.
