KOZHIKODE: Lorry owner Manaf has lodged a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking action against the cyber attack directed against him. In his complaint, Manaf stated that he and his family are in a situation where they are contemplating suicide and that he is being forced to witness his family falling apart before his eyes.

Manaf lodged the complaint online. In his complaint, Manaf stated that certain online media outlets have been relentlessly ridiculing and insulting him, his family, his religious beliefs and the family of Arjun who lost his life in the Shirur landslide.

Manaf had earlier lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode City Police Commissioner pointing out these matters. He now lodged the complaint with the Chief Minister alleging that the police did not take any action on his complaint.

Earlier, Arjun's family had lodged a complaint with the police that a cyber attack was being directed against them. Following this, the police registered a case against Manaf and others, who allegedly spread misinformation on social media, as part of the preliminary investigation. The case was filed under charges of attempting to create communal divisions in society.

Arjun's family had not demanded to register a case against Manaf. Following this, the police clarified that Manaf's name would be removed from the FIR. Police are currently examining social media profiles that allegedly launched cyberattacks.
