Incessant rain forecast for Thiruvananthapuram; IMD issues yellow alert

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains will lash across Kerala during the next three hours on Saturday. The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that moderate rain is possible at isolated places in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts on Saturday.

Yellow alert on Saturday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts.

Yellow alert on Sunday: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Palakkad districts.

In the next 3 hours, there is possibility of incessant rainfall in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is predicted in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. Strong winds and bad weather conditions are expected today along the coast of Karnataka with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and at some occasions up to 55 kmph.
