NEW DELHI: The Railways has reduced the advanced ticket booking period of train tickets from 120 days to 60 days. This excludes date of the journey. It will come into effect from November 1. However, the change will not be applicable on tickets booked till October 31.
The change will not be applicable for Taj-Gomti Express trains with a lower reservation time limit. Foreign tourists will continue to have the facility to book tickets 365 days in advance. The railways said the deadline has been reduced to avoid having to cancel the tickets due to reasons including change in train timings and to prevent unauthorized interference by agents.
