Two youths killed after bike crashes into a divider in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: Two youths met with a tragic end in a bike accident that took place on National Highway 66 under construction in Tirurangadi. The accident took place at Padikkal in Moonniyur village on Wednesday night. The deceased are Malappuram Kottakkal natives Ranees (19) and Niyas (19). Both of them were relatives.

The accident took place at around 11 pm on Wednesday. The accident occurred when the bike ridden by the victims crashed into a divider installed to separate the newly constructed four-lane highway from the service road at Padikkal in Moonniyur. The accident's cause remains unclear.

Two youths were first rushed to a private hospital in Chelari. However, as their condition worsened, one of them was shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College and the other to a private hospital in Kottakkal. Ranees, who was taken to the private hospital in Kottakkal, died yesterday night, while Niyas died today morning. The bike was destroyed in the accident.
