THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated heavy rain will continue in the state until Monday. On Friday, the central and southern districts of Kerala received heavy rain, leaving the capital city inundated.

The rains are due to the formation of a new cyclonic system over the South East Arabian Sea near South Kerala and another cyclonic system existing over the South West Arabian Sea and South East Arabian Sea.

A yellow alert is issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur districts. Fishing is also banned on the Kerala coast. Thunderstorms are dangerous. They cause great damage to human and animal life, electrical and communication networks, and appliances connected to electrical conductors.
