THRISSUR: CPI strongly revolted against the statement made by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who downplayed conspiracy in the Thrissur Pooram fiasco. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said the Pooram this year was not conducted as it should have been and also gave hint about certain interventions made to disrupt the festival. The CPI leader also demanded that the government bring out the truth behind the fiasco in Thrissur Pooram. Another CPI leader V S Sunilkumar also rallied behind Viswam to ignore the comments made by CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

“One police officer met some RSS functionaries. Suddenly a narrative was brought that the Pooram was disrupted by the police officer in cohorts with RSS. What is the truth? The pooram went on as always. However, there was a delay in the traditional fireworks. Just for that, many are crying foul of conspiracy. The Muslim league should not shoulder support for such false narratives propagated by Sangh Parivar.” Said CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

“I don’t know why CM responded in such a way. But the Pooram was certainly disrupted and there is conspiracy. NDA was involved with the conspiracy to help ensure a win for their candidate.” Said V S Sunilkumar.
