KOZHIKODE: Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama Secretary Mukkam Umar Faizi took a dig at Muslim League state president Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.

“Some people are determined to become Qasi for the sake of politics. Some have even reached the revered position despite not having any qualities. If these problems are left undiscussed we will come with further revelations. Until now, we were silent on the issues and it is high time the topic needs discussion” Said Mukkam Umar Faizi at the Grand Mawlid Conference organized by the Samastha Region Committee in Edavannappara, Malappuram.

For a long, things were merrier between the two organizations. Mukkam Faizi’s recent criticism is expected to not bode well with the League leadership.

“During earlier days, Samastha’s words were final and all organizations showed etiquette to conform to that. But now, they are not ready to abide by our terms and are willfully violating the norms. It will be better for them to come to terms with us. We shall not be entertaining this free run of other organizations, flouting the norms of the religion. It will be also wise for the political parties to cooperate with us rather than finding fault” Mukkam Umar Faizi also criticised the Qasi foundation formed by Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.
