NEW DELHI: The country is today observing national Unity Day today, on the 149th birthday of India’s iron man Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to the ‘Statue of Unity’ in connection with his birth anniversary. Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat.

We are now working with the aim of 'One Nation, One Election' which will strengthen India's democracy. The country will take a step forward in realizing the dream of a developed India. The country is moving towards the goal of a secular civil code ‘one nation, one civil code’.

This is my greatest respect for Sardar Sahib. Ambedkar's constitution was not fully implemented in the country for 70 years. People who glorified the Constitution were the ones who insulted it the most. The reason for this is the wall of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 has been buried forever.

All threats affecting national security in the last ten years have been removed. Terrorists today know that trying to harm India will yield no result. Reason is India will not leave them alone. The country is moving ahead with peace, development and prosperity. While the distance between the countries of the world is increasing, the world is getting closer to India. This is unusual. It is creating a new history in the world. The country is watching how India will solve the problems firmly,' Modi said.
