KALPETTA: UDF candidate Priyanka Gandhi on Monday strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government during her election campaign in Wayanad. She said that people of the country are facing all kinds of hardship under the BJP government's rule at the Centre.
"Fear and hatred are being nurtured among various communities. Minorities are being constantly attacked. We know what is happening in Manipur. Constitutional values are being repeatedly undermined. Policies in the country are being implemented to benefit the Prime Minister’s friends," Priyanka said.
"The central government has yet to declare the Wayanad disaster a national disaster or allocate funds for it. Then why did Narendra Modi visit Wayanad to meet with the disaster-affected? The central government's stance on politicizing even a disaster is truly shameful," she said.
Priyanka participated in election campaign programs in Meenangadi, Panamaram and Pozhuthana on Monday. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala Mansoor Ali Khan, KPCC president K Sudhakaran, opposition leader VD Satheesan, Shashi Tharoor MP and Ramesh Chennithala participated in the campaign works. Today, Priyanka will participate in the campaign programs in four places belonging to Kozhikode and Nilambur assembly constituencies.
Sree Narayana Guru's followers
"The people of Wayanad have a history of struggle. They valiantly fought against the British. Wayanad's legacy and history are rooted in communal harmony. As followers of Sree Narayana Guru, the people of Wayanad uphold love, friendship, and brotherhood. When everyone surrounded and attacked my brother, Wayanad embraced him. It was the people of Wayanad who gave him the strength and energy to walk across the entire country," Priyanka said
