'Same congress boy who demeaned my mother' ; BJP leader Padmaja Venugopal against Palakkad UDF candidate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Padmaja Venugopal lashed out at UDF Palakkad candidate Rahul Mamkootathil and Vadakara MP Shafi Parambil for denying a handshake to LDF candidate Sarin at a wedding event in Palakkad.

PADMAJA VENUGOPAL:

"Isn’t Rahul the same boy who insulted my mother when I decided to quit Congress? Today’s incident puts the spotlight on the high political morale shown by Sarin. It doesn’t even matter if the congress candidate denies a handshake to Sarin, but he took it on the chin. This also gives a look into the staggering low standards of the Congress young Turks.

Earlier, Minister M B Rajesh severely criticized the congress leaders for lacking etiquette after they denied a handshake to LDF candidate P Sarin.

The congress young stalwarts rejected the greetings from the LDF candidate at a marriage function in Palakkad. This has already kick-started debate within political centres in the state and mostly in the by-poll-bound Palakkad.

By the time Sarin extended his hands to exchange greetings, the two congressmen walked away. Sarin attempted to alleviate tensions with his former pals but to no avail.
