Relief for Nivin Pauly, gets clean chit in sexual assault case

KOCHI: Actor Nivin Pauly's name has been dropped from the list of accused in the sexual assault case registered by the police on the complaint of a woman. The police have submitted the report to the Kothamangalam Magistrate Court.

In her complaint, the Kothamangalam native woman had alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Nivin Pauly and five others at a hotel in Dubai on December 14 and 15 last year. Upon investigation, the police found that Nivin Pauly was not in Dubai on the date mentioned by the complainant. Nivin Pauly was earlier named the sixth accused in the case. The woman filed the sexual assault complaint soon after the Hema Committee report came out.

Nivin Pauly had called a press conference soon after the woman lodged sexual harassment complaint against him. He stated that he had never met, called or messaged the woman who lodged the complaint against him. He said that he would go to any extent to prove his innocence and that he would fully cooperate with the investigation.
