Tirur horrific car accident; Seven-year-old boy succumbs to injuries

MALAPPURAM: A schoolboy undergoing treatment in a car accident succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. The victim is Muhammad Rixan (seven), son of Nelleri Sameer, a native of Thalakkadathur.

The accident took place near Ovungal Paral Church in Tirur Thalakkadathur on Friday morning around 9.45 am. The child was trapped between the wall and the car and was seriously injured. The CCTV footage of the accident was released yesterday.

Rixan was walking through the sidelines of the road when an out-of-control Nano car rammed into him leaving the boy crushed between the wall and the car. The locals reached the spot and moved the car to take out Rixan and rush him to the hospital. The seriously injured boy was admitted to a hospital in Kottakal. Tirur police have started an investigation into the case.
