Suresh kills himself after trying to murder his differently-abled son; neighbour hints reason for murder attempt

ALAPPUZHA: Father committed suicide after attempting to murder his differently-abled son. The deceased is Aaryad native Suresh (54). The incident took place at Mannancherry in Alappuzha. Suresh tried to kill his 22-year-old son. Later, Suresh hanged himself to death. The incident came to light around 1 pm.

The son is undergoing treatment. He was initially admitted to a private hospital and was shifted to Vandanam Medical College as his health condition was critical. Suresh tried to kill his son while his wife was out.

"I got to know about it around 1 pm. Suresh's son is differently-abled. Their house is in a very miserable condition. It may have been difficult to keep pushing with their son. There are financial problems. The son is in the hospital," a neighbour said. Suresh's body is kept in the mortuary of a private hospital. The body will be handed over to relatives after post-mortem. The police reached the spot and took legal action.
