Woman succumbs to injuries after being set ablaze by partner

KOLLAM: Shejamol, a native of Azheekkal Puthuval, died. Shibu Chacko, a native of Pala, committed suicide after pouring petrol on the woman and setting her on fire. The incident happened last night.

Shibu, who suffered 90 percent burns, died before being rushed to the hospital. Shejamol, who suffered 80 percent burns, was undergoing treatment. They lived together for four years. The cause of the incident is unclear. Last night, Shibu reached the house of Shejamol and poured petrol on the woman's body and set her ablaze. Later, Shibu also committed suicide by pouring petrol on himself. According to the police, Shibu is accused in several cases.
