KOTTAYAM: The body of a student who went missing from Ettumanoor was found on Sunday. The body of the student was found floating in the Meenachil River exactly three days after his missing.

The victim is Suhail Naushad (18), a first-year engineering student of Saintgits College, Pathamuttom and the son of Ettumanoor General Stores owner Naushad. The body washed up in Poovathumoodu area of the river on Sunday.

Suhail has been missing since last Thursday, and police were investigating the case. Suhail, who used to get off at Ettumanoor from his college bus, decided to alight at Poovathumoodu that day. He has been untraceable since.

The police received CCTV footage of the student walking through the Poovathummudu area, which was the focus of the investigation. The teen’s mobile phone was switched off, hampering the police attempts to acquire the mobile tower location.

After completing the inquest, the body was shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
