Kerala braces for heavy rainfall on Wednesday; alert sounded

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is expected to receive heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts have been warned of heavy rain on Wednesday.

A yellow alert has been announced in the districts of Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad on Thursday, November 14 and in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad on November 15. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places from November 13 to 15.

  • People living in areas prone to landslides, and flash floods should move to safer places as per the instructions of the authorities.

  • Residents living in river banks and downstream areas of dams should also anticipate the danger and should move to safer regions.
