NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened talks on the necessity of a Waqf Board Act in the country to prevent the ongoing rampant land claims made by Waqf. Shah said nobody can stop the central government from passing the bill in the next session of Parliament. He was addressing an election rally in Baghmara, Jharkhand.

AMIT SHAH:

“Land grabbing is an innate quality of the Waqf board. In Karnataka, the properties of the villagers were swallowed up. The lands of temples, farmers and villagers were taken away. Now it is time for change. Rahul Gandhi and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren oppose the central government's move to bring changes to the Waqf board.

Tribals will not need to conform to the uniform civil code. If BJP comes to power in Jharkhand, illegal immigrants will be sent back to Bangladesh.”
