NILAMBUR: LDF candidate M. Swaraj said that the UDF tried to portray the Nilambur by-election as a political battle. Responding to the media after the by-election results were announced, Swaraj said the reasons for the electoral defeat would be examined closely. He also pointed out that those opposing the LDF raised various controversies throughout the campaign.

"We were able to face those controversies strongly. The LDF has always stood up for the people's issues. Though our opponents tried to bring up controversies at different stages, we were not shaken by them. We focused on discussing development-related matters with the public. However, looking at the election results, we are uncertain whether the people fully understood our message. In the coming days, we will closely analyse such aspects and ensure that what needs to be communicated to the public is done effectively,” said Swaraj.

“We will move forward with more strength for the people. This government has brought about many significant changes in Kerala. But this election cannot be seen as an assessment of the government’s performance. We will correct the misconceptions among the public. Not every election leads to a proper assessment of political ideologies. We will examine everything and continue to work more strongly for the people and the state,” Swaraj added.
