MUMBAI: A case has been filed against film director Ram Gopal Varma for allegedly morphing images of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his family and spreading them on social media as part of the promotion for his upcoming film ‘Vyuham’. The images, which include photos of Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, were reportedly accompanied by derogatory remarks.
The complaint, filed by TDP leader Ramalingam, claims that the posts are defamatory and harmful to the reputation of Naidu and his family, with allegations that these actions are tarnishing their status in society. The case was registered by Maddipad police in the Prakasam district under sections of the Information Technology Act.
Ram Gopal Varma, known for his outspoken and often controversial statements about Telugu Desam Party leaders, has faced similar controversies in the past. His 2019 film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ depicted former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao in a critical light, further straining his relations with the TDP.
