'Should never happen to any pregnant woman, inhumane torture' ; Famous YouTube vloggers turn against family

'Praveen Pranav' is a YouTube channel with 4.23 million subscribers. It is one of the most popular family vlog channels in Malayalam. Praveen and his wife Mridula, along with Praveen’s brother and parents used to upload videos on YouTube. These videos of any day saw views skyrocketing to lakhs within minutes of uploading.

Praveen and Mridula got married last year. Recently, they shared a video of welcoming a baby into the family. A few days ago, Mridula gave birth to a baby in a government hospital. The happy news was shared on social media. But what followed next shocked most of the family’s loyal subscribers.

Praveen shared a live video of his wife crying in bed as she alleged torture from the family. According to her complaint, Mirdula, during her prenatal days was beaten up by Praveen’s brother Kochu and his mother. Even Praveen suffered beatings from his father and brother. In the video, Praveen showed viewers his bruises. The couple also revealed an audio clip of the parents asking them to leave the house while using expletives.

It is believed that the relationship was strained due to differences in shooting a vlog. Praveen alleged favouritism from his parents towards his brother Kochu and said he had suffered the same all through his life. Praveen requested all parents to never emulate such practice.

Praveen:

“What happened in my house that day is something that no one should ever do to a pregnant woman. My father, brother and mother are culprits in it and we are planning to move legally.

The trio came to the hospital with the sole purpose of shooting a video for the vlog and didn’t even take a good look at our child. They didn’t even talk to me. My mother even talked badly about our baby. She used to curse our child for being an ill omen. When we were thrown out of the house, Mridula was having her labour and we sat inside the car not knowing where to go. We both cried sitting for more than half an hour.

Mirdula even fell to the ground. She suffered severe pain and just four days after the incident, she had her labour. Even while Mridula fell to the ground in the melee, my mother never cared to help her. Such is the violence in my house.”

Meanwhile, the video has already been viewed by more than fifty lakh people.
