KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has demanded to produce the case diary of the investigation into the death of ADM Naveen Babu. The court directed to produce the case diary on December 6. The court also demanded the officer in charge of the investigation to submit an affidavit. The court directed to produce the case diary while considering the plea filed by his widow K Manjusha, seeking a CBI investigation into the death of Naveen Babu.

Detailed arguments in the plea will be heard on December 9. The court also sought the stand of the government and the CBI. A notice will be sent to the CBI in the case. The plaintiff Manjusha informed the court that the investigation is not going in the right direction. The family told the court that the accused Divya has political influence and the investigation will be sabotaged. The court asked the petitioner on what basis she is saying that it is a murder. The court also asked if there is any other reason other than the fact that the accused is a political leader for saying that the investigation will be sabotaged.

Manjusha, his widow filed a plea in the high court yesterday seeking a CBI investigation into the death of Naveen Babu. The plea alleged that he was murdered and hanged and that there was a major conspiracy behind the incident. The plea said the special investigation team's actions were to protect the sole accused, former district panchayat president P P Divya. Serious allegations were also levelled that the district collector succumbed to Divya's influence. This allegation is pointing the statement of Collector Arun K Vijayan that Naveen had told him that he had committed a mistake.

Divya's speech at the farewell function and the fabricated letter in the name of petrol pump applicant Prasanthan are all part of the conspiracy. Divya, who in his speech said Naveen was corrupt, had also brought a cameraman to circulate it. She even sent it to the Pathanamthitta district office where Naveen Babu was supposed to work. These are things that raise suspicions about the death. The special investigation team is not showing any interest in collecting scientific evidence. The attempt is to hide the evidence. Even Naveen's colleagues are not willing to tell the truth, fearing Divya, who has party influence. Therefore, the plea filed through advocate John S Ralph seeks an order for a CBI probe. The plea also sought an interim stay on the submission of the final report by the special team. A public interest litigation (PIL) plea has been filed by one Muraleedharan.
