15 injured as bus carrying Sabarimala devotees overturns in Vadakkencherry

PALAKKAD: 15 passengers were injured after a bus carrying Sabarimala devotees overturned on the Vadakkencherry National Highway. The accident happened early Thursday morning. The injured were immediately taken to Alathur Taluk Hospital. None of the injuries are serious.

The bus carrying 25 people going to Sabarimala from Tiruttani in Tamil Nadu overturned. The highway police said the vehicle lost control and hit the divider. Soon after the bus overturned, a lorry coming from behind hit the bus. The rescue operations were carried out jointly by the locals, police and the fire department.
