Beaten with mobile phone charger, poked with pin and bitten on face; shocking torture by stepfather on three-year-old girl; arrested

TIRUR: Stepfather has been arrested in connection with the brutal assault of a three-year-old girl. The arrested has been identified as Anand Raj (21), a native of Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu. The girl's mother left her husband and came to Tirur with Anand Raj and her child in September. The locals informed the police that Ananda Raj was brutally assaulting the three-year-old girl. Following this, the police registered a case and shifted the child and her mother to Tirur shelter home. The child revealed that she was harassed during counselling. The three-year-old girl revealed that she was beaten all over her body with a mobile phone charger, bitten on the face, poked in the back of her leg with a pin, attempted to be drowned in a bucket filled with water and hit with a stone behind her back.
