Six-year-old succumbs to injuries after road accident in Palakkad

THRISSUR: A six-year-old girl undergoing treatment for a road accident succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Thrithiya, a class 1 student of Erimayur St. Thomas School, died in the accident. The accident happened around 4 pm on Friday while she was crossing the road.

After alighting from her school bus, Trithiya walked to the front of the bus and tried to cross the road. The driver failed to notice the girl and moved the vehicle forward. Thrithya was seriously injured and was rushed to Coimbatore hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

In another incident, a bus carrying college students overturned in Ernakulam, injuring three people. The accident took place on the National Highway at Ernakulam Chakkaraparambu in the early hours of Saturday.
