THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rainfall warnings in Kerala have prompted the authorities to declare a holiday for educational institutions in four districts tomorrow. Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be a holiday for educational institutions in Kasargod, Thrissur, Alappuzha and Malappuram districts.
In Malappuram district, due to heavy rainfall, the District Collector has declared a holiday tomorrow for all educational institutions except professional colleges. This includes madrassas, anganwadis, and tuition centres. However, exams scheduled earlier will not be postponed.
In Alappuzha, due to continuous rain causing waterlogging and rising water levels, the District Collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, tuition centres, and anganwadis, prioritizing the safety of students. Previously scheduled exams will remain unaffected.
In Thrissur district, District Collector Arjun Pandyan has declared a holiday tomorrow for educational institutions. This decision was made as a precautionary measure due to ongoing heavy rain and strong winds in various parts of the district, leading to waterlogging in several areas. The holiday applies to anganwadis, nurseries, Kendriya Vidyalayas, CBSE and ICSE schools, professional colleges, and tuition centres. However, there is no change in the schedule for previously planned exams and interviews. The holiday does not apply to the Revenue District School Arts Festival or residential schools.
In Kasaragod district, a red alert was issued today, and an orange alert has been declared for tomorrow. District Collector Imbasekhar has announced a holiday for educational institutions, including professional colleges, tuition centres, anganwadis, and madrassas. The holiday, however, does not apply to model residential schools.
