PANAJI: A social media post by Siddharth Singh Gautam, a civil engineer from Goa, advising Indians to leave the country if they have the means, has gone viral, sparking widespread discussion. Sharing his thoughts on the platform X, Siddharth voiced his frustration with India’s pollution, political climate and taxation, suggesting emigration as a solution for a better quality of life.
In his post, Siddharth wrote: “I am planning to leave India and migrate to Singapore permanently by 2025. The documentation process is underway. I cannot live among these politicians. We pay 40 percent tax to live in this polluted country.”
He further elaborated that those earning less than ₹50,000 per month should consider relocating to destinations like Bali or Thailand to achieve a better standard of living. “If you earn around ₹50,000 in India, believe me, you are living a beggar's life. But if you can earn ₹50,000 in Bali or Thailand, you can live like a king. If you can leave India as soon as possible, then do so,” he added.
The posts quickly gained traction, dividing public opinion. While some users resonated with his views, citing similar frustrations, others criticized his comments as overly negative and unrealistic.
