Petrol pump for TV Prasanthan: BPCL with justification

KANNUR: Bharat Petroleum Corporation has said that the controversial petrol pump that led to the death of ADM Naveen Babu was allotted to TV Prasanthan following all the norms. The reply was in response to an RTI application filed by Sreejayan, a native of Kannur.
The rule is that pump cannot be allowed if the applicant has a job in the government. Prasanthan, an employee of the electrical department of Kannur Medical College in Pariyaram, has been suspended by the government for violating service rules for starting a business.
Prasanthan TV was allotted the outlet at Niduvaloor Cheramkunnu in Chengalayi panchayath. The name Prasanthan TV is used in all the documents and NOC records of BPCL.
Bharat Petroleum Territory Manager mentioned TV Prasanthan in the RTI reply. The name is TV Prasanthan in the records of Kannur government medical college also.
