17-year-old girl becomes mother, child is eight months old; 21-year-old arrested

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 21-year-old youth has been arrested in the incident where a minor girl became a mother. The youth, named Adithyan, was arrested by the Enathu police under the POCSO Act over the incident where a 17-year-old girl from Enathu gave birth to a child. The youth have been living with the girl. The girl's mother is also likely to be named an accused in the case. It was a relative of the girl who filed a complaint stating that the 17-year-old girl had become a mother.

Both Adithyan and the girl have been living together for a very long time. Their child is now 8 months old. According to the police, the girl's family members were also aware that the girl and Adithyan had been living together.
