Refused mobile phone for playing games; 14-year-old boy stabs mother in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: In an alarming incident, a 14-year-old stabbed his mother for refusing mobile phone to play games. The incident took place last night in Thikkodi, Karekkad. It is reported that the minor boy was largely addicted to mobile phone games and has stopped attending school. After exhausting the internet plan, the boy asked his mother to lend him money to recharge.

The mother denied him money so the boy asked for her phone instead to play games. This request also went denied which irked the boy. The boy then took up a knife and stabbed the mother while she was asleep. The woman is now admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The injury is not serious while Payyoli police took the mother's statement.
