BENGALURU: Further proceedings in the sexual harassment case against director Ranjith have been stayed. The case against Ranjith was based on a complaint lodged by a man from Kozhikode. The interim order of the High Court of Karnataka is on a petition filed by Ranjith. A bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna granted the stay. The complaint says that the man was molested by director Ranjith. Kozhikode Kasaba Police registered a case against Ranjith on the complaint of the youth. The proceedings were shifted to Bengaluru since the incident took place there.
Allegation against Ranjith
The man says that when he reached the hotel room in search of an opportunity, Ranjith wrote his phone number on a tissue paper and asked him to send a message on that number. Ranjith asked him to reach Bengaluru Taj Hotel after two days. On reaching the hotel around 10 pm, the director instructed him to reach the room through the back gate. When he reached the room, Ranjith gave him alcohol and forced him to drink it. The man alleged that he was stripped and abused later.
