BENGALURU: The police have registered a case against the wife and family of a 34-year-old techie in connection with his suicide. Atul Subhash of Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide on Monday and left a 24-page suicide note. The case was registered on the complaint of his brother Bikas Kumar.

The Marathahalli police in Bengaluru have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Atul's wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, brother Anurag Singhania, and uncle Sushil Singhania.

The couple got married in 2019 and has a child. Unable to reconcile, they filed for divorce. Nikita and her relatives filed a false case against Atul Subhash. A false dowry harassment complaint was filed. A complaint was also filed showing that Atul was the cause of Nikita's father's death. However, this later turned to be a false complaint.

The complaint alleged that the accused demanded Atul to pay Rs 3 crore to settle the case. Bikas Kumar's complaint also said that Nikita demanded Rs 30 lakh to grant visitation rights to see his four-year-old son.

The complaint also alleged that Atul was mentally and physically tortured by his wife and her relatives. The police said that a case has been registered and the incident is being investigated.
