KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday alleged that the central government is implementing a policy of grudge towards Kerala. He said that the BJP is showing hostility towards Kerala because of its inability to establish a foothold in the state.
The Chief Minister reiterated that a township will be established in the landslide-affected Wayanad, as previously announced by the state government. "The township to be built in Wayanad will serve as a model for the world. Numerous individuals, organizations, and governments have extended their support to Wayanad. All MPs, except for the BJP MP from Kerala, have united for Wayanad. The Left government makes only those promises that it can fulfil," the CM said.
"The response given by Amit Shah to the petition submitted by the MPs is factually incorrect. What Amit Shah is saying is a lie that someone holding the position of Home Minister should never say. However, we will continue to engage with the central government. The people need to recognize this. Kerala is not opposed to the Centre giving money to other states. However, Kerala is also a state, isn't it? The Centre should allocate the necessary funds to the people of Kerala as well," he said.
The Chief Minister also said that some people are doing research on how to destroy the CPM. He also alleged that the BJP attempted to thwart the distribution of social welfare pensions.
