Funeral of four including couple killed in Pathanamthitta to be held today

PATHANAMTHITTA: The funeral of the four people killed in the road accident at Murinjakal in Koodal, Pathanamthitta on Sunday will be held today. The funeral of Nikhil Mathai (30), his wife Anu Biju (27), Nikhil's father Mathai Eepan (66), and Anu's father Biju George (51), all of Mallassery will be held at 12:30 pm. The bodies will be kept for public viewing at St Mary's Catholic Church in Poonkavu from 8 am. The bodies were brought to Anu's house at around 6.50 am. The body will be taken to Nikhil's house after a prayer meet.

The bodies of Mathai Eepan, Nikhil and Anu will be buried in the family grave and Biju's body in another grave. The accident happened when Mathai Eepan and Biju George went to pick Nikhil and Anu, who had returned from Malaysia after their honeymoon at the Thiruvananthapuram airport Sunday morning. The Maruti Swift car they were travelling in rammed into a bus carrying Ayyappa devotees from Andhra Pradesh. The car has been completely destroyed. The people in the car were taken out after cutting open the vehicle. Anu and Nikhil's wedding was held on November 30.
