Body of youth who went missing in river found

KOVALAM: The body of a young man who went missing while swimming in the Karamana River near Pozhikara in Pachalloor has been found. The deceased has been identified as Aneesh (20), the son of Anil and Rajani from Palode Karumancode. Aneesh, who worked in the housekeeping section of a private resort in Pachalloor, had gone to Pozhikkara on Wednesday evening to celebrate the New Year. He was accompanied by resort staff members Antony and Achu.

While the three of them were swimming in the river, Aneesh went missing. His friends later informed the Thiruvallam police. Despite search efforts by the Vizhinjam Coastal Police, Fire Force, and divers, Aneesh could not be located. Around 9:30 PM yesterday, local fishermen from Poonthura discovered the body in the Pachalloor Pozhi area. The body was later shifted to the mortuary at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
