PALAKKAD: The 15-year-old girl who went missing from Vallapuzha has been found in Goa. The child had gone missing from Palakkad six days ago. She was found by Malayali tourists. The child is currently in the custody of the Goa Police.
The girl went missing on the morning of December 20. The girl, who had left home for tuition, told her friends that she was going to her relative's house and left. The girl changed her clothes in front of her friends and covered her face with a burqa.
The teachers informed the parents after the girl did not come to school. Following this, the parents informed the police. Police investigation confirmed that the girl reached Pattambi railway station. Shahna's clothes also became a challenge for the police in the investigation.
The police could not find any trace in the investigation from Shornur to Thiruvananthapuram, despite collecting all the CCTV footage. The child not having a mobile phone in her hand also became a challenge. A 36-member team consisting of two DySPs, CIs and SIs was conducting the investigation in five teams under the supervision of the district police chief.
Police had released the sketch of the youth who was believed to have travelled with the girl. The sketch was prepared based on the statement of a fellow passenger on the train. It was suspected that the girl was travelling from Pattambi railway station on the Parasuram Express.
