10-year-old girl reported missing by family, girl later found with 16-year-old boy; major twist in missing case

AHMEDABAD: A 10-year-old girl, who was reported missing by her family, was found with a 16-year-old boy in a peculiar incident in Dhansura village, Gujarat. Police revealed that the girl had eloped with the boy she had befriended through Instagram.

The girl, studying in Class 5, was reported missing from her home on December 31. After conducting a search for hours, the girl's family lodged a complaint with the police suspecting abduction. During the subsequent investigation, the police found the girl in a nearby village. It was discovered that the minor girl and boy had developed a romantic relationship after connecting on Instagram. Police also found that three friends had helped the two in planning the elopement.

The girl had been using her mother’s phone to access Instagram and was regularly in contact with the boy over the phone. Police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint.
