Four girl students drown after falling into Peechi dam reservoir, three serious

THRISSUR: In a terrible incident, four girls accidentally fell into the Peechi Dam reservoir in Thrissur on Sunday. Locals rescued all four and rushed them to hospital. The condition of one girl is said to be extremely critical. The other three students are also reported to be in critical condition.

Nima, Angres, Alina and Erin, all 16 years of age and natives of Thrissur, got drowned in the dam by Sunday evening. The accident took place near the Pallikunnu Anganawadi premises. Three students came to visit Nima’s house, a native of Peechi. All four went to visit the dam together by evening. The locals were alarmed later hearing the screams and saw the students battling to stay afloat. They were rushed to the hospital and are currently undergoing treatment at Thrissur Jubilee Hospital.

According to the latest report, one of the injured students improved her health condition and is getting back to normalcy.
