THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P V Anvar said that he publicly apologizes to V D Satheesan. He talked to the media soon after handing over his resignation letter to Speaker A N Shamseer. Anwar revealed that he levelled election fund allegations against Satheesan as per the advice of P Sasi, chief minister's political secretary.

Anwar's words
'I considered Pinarayi Vijayan as my own father. I had felt that people are simply raising allegations against him. Opposition's allegations against Pinarayi were seen emotionally. Raised the allegations of election fund of Rs 150 crore as per the request of P Sasi.

Sasi gave me in paper the things to be raised. I was happy at that time since I got the opportunity to speak against those levelling baseless allegations against the chief minister. I just did the job assigned to me by the party then and that too with the Speaker's knowledge. I am still carrying the burden of that sin.

I publicly apologize to opposition leader V D Satheesan. I sincerely apologize to the people of Kerala for the defamation caused to Satheesan. I apologize to Satheesan, his family, relatives and those who love him for the distress caused. I kindly request Satheesan to accept my apology.

I don’t know whether there was any planning to present me as an enemy in front of the Congress leadership. I apologize to the people of Kerala for the defamation caused to V D Satheesan in that incident.
