THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several schoolchildren were injured after a tourist bus overturned near Irinchayam near Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram. The bus was carrying schoolchildren who were on the way to an excursion. A total of 49 people were on board and several sustained injuries. The injured are being shifted to hospitals by the police, locals, and fire force teams.

Those with minor injuries have been taken to Nedumangad Taluk Hospital, while those with severe injuries are being transported to the Medical College Hospital. Preliminary reports suggest that the bus lost control on a winding and curvy road. Preliminary reports suggest the group involved in the accident was going on a trip from Perumkadavila in Kattakada.

Minister GR Anil, who is also the local MLA, said the accident occurred in front of the Irinchayam Milk Society. He stated that all necessary facilities for treating the injured had been arranged at Nedumangad Hospital and Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
