KOCHI: Production controller and FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala) office-bearer Shibu G Susheelan has alleged that the protest by makeup artists in Kochi was part of an attempt to undermine FEFKA and B Unnikrishnan. In a Facebook post, Shibu warned that FEFKA is the lifeline of workers in the Malayalam film industry, and anyone attempting to dismantle it will be strongly opposed by them.

He stated that taking disciplinary action within a labour organization is a natural process. Every union has the authority to take action against members who act against its bylaws, and FEFKA is no exception.

Furthermore, Shibu accused a female director, who he claimed is continuously trying to dismantle FEFKA, of manipulating female workers' emotions and forcing poor women to sit in protest on the streets under the pretense of supporting women workers' rights.
