Two held for theft of rubber sheets

THENMALA: Rubber sheets were stolen from two places under the police station limits. A team led by Thenmala SHO Pushpa Kumar and consisting of sub inspector Amen, civil police officers Praveen, Vishnu, Manzoor, Shyam and Renjith arrested Gopala Krishna Pilla (60) of Punalur and Sreekanth (20) of Pathanapuram for the theft.

The theft gang arrived on January 22nd in an auto and a bike and committed the theft in broad daylight. The locals followed the bike the accused were riding. Realizing that the locals were following them, the accused abandoned the bike in an empty area and escaped. The accused were subsequently arrested during an inspection conducted by the Thenmala police. The Thenmala police informed that there are more accused in this gang and that they will be arrested soon. They were produced before the Punalur court and remanded.
