THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department warned of high temperatures in Kerala on Tuesday. As per reports, the temperature is expected to surge two or three degrees higher than the normal temperature.

Hot and humid weather is likely due to high temperatures and humid air. The Meteorological Department also points out that high heat can cause many serious health problems such as sunstroke, sunburn and dehydration.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed that as part of the Kallakadal phenomenon high waves of 0.2 to 0.6 meters on Kerala coast and 0.5 to 0.7 meters on Tamil Nadu coast are expected till 5.30 pm tomorrow.

  • Avoid dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea, and carbonated soft drinks during the day.

  • Wear loose, light-coloured cotton clothes.

  • Wear footwear when going out. It would be better to use an umbrella or a hat.

  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Encourage the use of ORS solution.
